First test at astro-photography. This is by no means a bad shot given the air conditions last night, very humid, which makes resolution a waste, can't wait for a nice dry, clear Winter's night, when seeing is crisp and sharp. Shot using a 25-mm eyepiece and a telescoping T-ring giving the image an overall power of 100X. I took several braketed and different exposure shots. I found that 1/15/sec was the best for resolving Jupiter and its cloud bands, anything faster and the planet dissolved into the background, anything slower and the planet's cloud bands were wased out. I also found that 400 ISO was the optimum for faster speed and overall image quality. Next time the moons will have to be captured in a slower exposure time and Jupiter at the optimum for the cloud bands at a faster speed. Then I'll cut out the good image of Jupiter and paste it to the good one of the moons.

I took a 12-mile walk this morning with my buddy Larry. It has been our ritual on Sunday mornings to take marathon walks. Thankfully, the weather has been agreeable lately with cooler temperatures. Here are two fowl shots from this morning.
Great Blue Heron:

Cormorant and River Turtle (I swear they were talking to each other):
