View Full Version : Another P-51C Takes Flight - First Time

Having been under rebuild for many years by the Paul family/Warhawk Air Museum, their P-51C, N4651C, flew for the first time yesterday, increasing the number of airworthy high-back Mustangs to 10! The aircraft is finished in the markings of Idaho-native, and 4th Fighter Group legend, Duane Beeson's P-51B. As I understand it, while the original was simply named "Bee", the Paul family, with backing from the Beeson family, decided the best way to memorialize Duane Beeson and his ties to Idaho, would be to add Boise to the nose art, just like how it was originally on his P-47.

Currently there are now 7 P-51B/C's, 2 P-51A's, and 1 A-36 that are all in active, airworthy condition. In the near future, I am aware of an additional A-36, and at least two P-51B/C's which will be joining that listing.
