cool plane...i couldnt see the info thingy due to rude people..but notice the long door on the side rear.....

It could be a Piper J5-HE1, which was indeed a flying ambulance.

The navy used the Piper J5-HE1 as flying ambulance and the army the Stinson L5. Below the Stinson in action.
