A pretty morning up here today. Got this pic of Mt. Rainier out the window, through 12X50 binoculars at around 7:00 am, more or less. I wasn't hopeful the "through the binocs" shot would come out well. I still need a better camera. The big mountain is about 50 miles south of here. On some days we can see it from here!

that's a nice shot, Paul.
can you see Baker?
if the weather holds,
I might be forced to go out
and mow the lawn one last time.
this past summer was not normal.
...many more storms than usual.

Nice shot Paul. I went to Mt. Rainier a few years ago while my daughters were out at Ft. Lewis. Unfortunately they can't get the wheels rolling until about noon so by the time we drove up there we didn't have much time to hike around. We did make it to the snow line though so that was fun throwing snowballs around in late May. I got lucky and was there when the sun was out most of the time. My daughters (one is still there) hate all the rain.
It is beautiful country. Those tall fern trees are awesome also.

Trans, I've got ferns growing wild in my yard,
that folks in the city spend $100 for.
monsters!
this is definitely NOT the place
for people that don't like rain.
as I see it, it's the price for green,
and we've got a heck of a lot of green.

When ya can see Rainier ya know its a nice day in the PNW and that it was today! I never get tired of looking at our mountains here in the NW exspecially during the morning sunrise. They can be quite the site.
