if you do not turn that engine on real quick, the last may not last very long...

I might be wrong here, but wasn't 'The Last' was a Spitfire PR19, similar to the Mk14 (also by RealAir) but with cameras and no guns, a very different beast to the Mk 9 above.

I would say the engine has already blown due to the oil stains, keeping at full revs for to long!!!

The last Operational Sortie of an RAF Spitfire was flown on April 1, 1954, from RAF Seletar, in Singapore, as part of Operation Firedog, during the Malayan Emergency. Mark 19 Spitfire, PS888, was piloted by Squadron Leader Swaby.

That is correct... http://81squadron.com/NOTABLE%20PLANES.htm

PS 915 is the BBMF machine as it was when painted to represent "The Last!" (hence the modern display pilot in our model) Also the BBMF machine has no rear quarter camera port as depicted in the original.

PS888 is the original aircraft that wore "The Last" markings and flew the last operational sortie. PS915 is the aircraft that wears PS888's livery flying in the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at the moment.

Edit : Bazzar beat me to it.

Indeed Baz (your old one) and I still fly her in FSX albeit with a prop change and sounds aliased to another Griffon engined model. She'll do for me until you maybe one day you do a native FSX version. :ernae:
