Many months ago, I bought some cheap earbuds for my mp3 player. The unique thing about them was the cord was wrapped in a vinyl cloth, which made it easier to keep untangled. The earbuds are more comfortable that earphones, because they actually fit into the ear, instead of mostly being outside of it. I bought them from a site called Woot.com. They have daily specials. The earphones were less than 5 bucks. I should have bought several of them. Anyway, I have searched and searched for similar earphones (earbuds) at a comparable price, or slightly more, and can't find diddlysquat.

Am wondering if anyone here could have better results?

Let me know, please!!

Thanks!

None stocked here...but might be a lead as to what brand you had?

I find that roaming through Ebay is the best place to find things such as new Earbuds and things. There are many dealers that sell new product on there.

My fave are the stock Apple earbuds. The multi-purpose 3-way switch that has like 10 operations built into it is just awesome. It has a built in Mic as well which works great for answering phone calls on the cell. But you need an Apple to link it to (iPhone and iPod in my case) and the cord is 'sticky' with this wierd kind of plastic like material. Ive just learned to roll it neatly all the time and its gone well. I would sure love to have a good pocket case for them to protect them.

Sorry to go off topic. Just yesterday I was really enjoying my earbuds and listening to music and all. Its cool to see a post on earbuds.

Funny, it's the other way 'round. I find buds really uncomfortable and - worse - too noise-cancelling. The latter is really dangerous if you're cyclist.
Unless I have my earphones in for four hours in a row, my ears won't hurt.

I like earbuds specifically because they ARE noise canceling. Most of the time I wear them is when I shop. It actually makes shopping in Walmart semi-enjoyable. I "tune" out everything and everyone around me. It allows me to enjoy looking for what I need, and getting the h.... out of there! That applies to any type of shopping though. Really, if you haven't tried this, you should!

I prefer being aware of my surroundings, the music is just ear candy. Kind of like the soundtrack in a movie.

Yep, when I was 24, I felt that way too! I guess I'm getting more and more ornery as I age. Less tolerant of folks, especially at Wal Mart

Please don't. There's too many grumpy old people out there already...

P.S: Just don't buy at WalMart and go somewhere else instead.

Where I live, the closest store to me is a Dollar General and a Piggly Wiggly. The closest Wal Mart is an hour's drive. I don't go often, but when I do, I have a fairly lengthy list. I get what I want, and split. No confrontations or anything; just limit my time to dealing with it.

I shop Walmart no later than 9:00 AM weekdays. All other stores I'm willing to visit as late as 10:00 AM. And that's because I've become a grouchy old so-in-so and I hate to be around a lot of people who wander around with no purpose. If I can't do shop somewhere by 10, then I don't.

I also think earbuds are quite comfy, though they took a LOT of getting used to.

The new Zune headphones have a fabric covering on them, but they are way more than $5.

A little more expensive than the previous ones, because these are a newer model. But still comparatively cheap. Great sound. Great price.

I did a search in the Woot.com blog history, and found the name of the company.

Maybe it's the geek in me, but I hate ear buds that aren't marked Right and Left. I guess I'm a purist, but when Pink Floyd's "Money" starts up with the different cash sound effects, they dang well BETTER be in the correct ears! Sony puts out a product called Bumpin' Buds that have great sound and were only about $20 at Target several months ago when I bought them. They're noly only labeled L&R, but each bud is actually constructed slightly different so you can just glance at them and still get them in the correct ear.

I like this non-tangling idea. Those thin tangled up wires drive me nuts on my Sony player.

Chief, I see ya got some Wicked Little buds. I have tried them all, none work better than the Skullcandy buds I got at Radio Shack. More costly than what you got, but they have different sized ear buds and the smaller ones are the only ones that fit my small ear openings and fit well.
