A lot of animal photos lately; promise there will be different shots later this week (Cars, aircraft..)
These are from a visit to the Rotterdam Zoo today; only been there once before a few years ago. A good collection of animals and a lot of reptiles!

It's an Australian bird, called a 'Tawny frogmouth' (Podargus strigoides).

Tawny Frogmouth are quite friendly criters to humans. Attached photo (not mine) shows there natural disguise....looking like a piece of tree branch.
Some top pics there, got the light just right with most of them.:wavey:

That Scarlet Ibis is just gorgeous. There is one of the Caribbean islands, Tobago I think, where you can canoe along creeks surrounded by huge flocks of these glorious birds. Must be quite a sight.
Great pics again, Ferry.
What's the wee antelope ? Is it a duiker ??

Thanks Mike!
The little Antelope is a South-African 'Klipspringer' : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klipspringer
Had to look that up on the 'net because the three Nile crocodiles and the two (Over 70-year old!) African slender-snouted crocodiles (Mecistops cataphractus) grabbed my attention.. The Hyrax' and their babies in the same enclosure as the klipspringer didn't help either.
