Although there must be a hundred repaints for this model already available, I had some on my hard disk which I never had uploaded. Some were already done for the FS9 V1.0 version by other artists (and in a differnt style), however these textures did not completely fit the 1.2 version of the A2A Messerschmitt Bf109 Emil.

All repaints are made by using Martin "ICDP" Catney's incredible paintkit and on two models I have used unit markings made by Jutcosca.

The repaints are uploaded both here and at Avsim.

Enjoy,
Huub

Huub... I think surely must have missed 'one' Messerschmidt! Surely... You have had plenty of time (many years) to do the entire Luftwaffe fleet of 109's!!!

Huub,

As there were over 30,000 Bf109s built there are still a few to go ;) . For instance most Emils the Germans flew during the Balkan campaign were left for the Romanians and therefore repainted. So 30,000 aircraft could easily lead to 40,000 repaints..... ( :icon_eek: Auch!).

Perhaps the planned accusim version of the Bf109E will use a different texture lay-out. In that case I can do them all over again! :isadizzy:

I did this one in plastic years ago, however as it is too similar to the aircraft flown by Werner Schroer (which I just uploaded), I won't do it for the A2A model. Well that's at least one less........:jump:

Thanks for the kind words guys! It was fun doing them, but it is always nice to hear from people who are enjoying them as well.

Ha ha, I know you already told me at least once before, but I though it wasn't a bad idea to put some pressure on this subject again ;) So thanks for the answer once again.

Perhaps the subject of my avatar would make the perfect pilot. My avatar is a drawing depicting Günther Rall, who was the third top scoring German ace during WWII. He made all his 275 kills flying Bf109s. He was shot down by a P-47 in Januari 1945 while flying a Me-262 and if one of the few pilot who survived a crash with this type of aircraft. He was captured while still in hospital by US troops.

After the war, when he became aware of all the cruelties from the nazis, he tried to do all possible within the limits of his possibilities to warn people against the dangers of propaganda. He kept doing this until short before he died. He joined the (Bundes)Luftwaffe again after the war and his last position was permanent German representative in the NATO's military committee.

Günther Rall died on October 4th 2009 at the blessed age of 91.

Cheers,
Huub
