Moe,
I'm new to FSX so you all probably know about this.
But to me this texture make FXS look like the real thing.

The 1st photo is with out. The others have the add-on.

Look at the grass!

This is a free add-on from REX.

I use GEX/REX and UTX, but how those stack up against others I don't really know. I don't have the finances to be choosy, so this is what I have and what I'll probably always use.

Photo real ground textures with full autogen for the whole world would be ideal. . .now if Orbyx could just expand a bit, lol, lol.

There are not many choices, all depending on the coverage. So here's my top list:

The FTX way, crisp photoscenery coupled with special autogen setting, is by far the best scenery so far, IMHO. But you have only Oz and PNW covered.

Next best is GEX/UTX combo, coverage North America and Europe only.

Since I prefer to fly in SE Asia I use Fscene4x there (coupled with FSGlobal X mesh).

As a low'n'slow flyer I hate those pure photosceneries like the Megasceneries series. They might look good at high altitude but below FL100 they are :toilet:

Outside of the FTX areas....I love the GEX +REX+ UTX combo.

Having said that, last night I fired up FSX and took a flight in the Skysim Mirage III (http://www.sky-sim.co.uk/catalog/index.php) in Swiss livery from Aerosoft's SionX (http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/iboshop.cgi?showd,,11040) and with Switzerland Pro X (http://secure.simmarket.com/aerosoftflylogic-switzerland-professional-x.phtml) installed. Along with the real world weather,TrackIR and a decent frame rate I was in a simmer's nirvana.

Orbx FTX Blue PNW.
Only ones that really have gotten the look of the NW, right. :salute:
(Within the limitations of FSX)

Now one I would love to own is that Switzerland Professional all seasons photoscenery.
But that's about 2 weeks groceries for me. :icon_lol:

I've got REX, complete UTX, complete FSG, ASE +XG and Autostar. I had GEX but thanks to Flight1's return policy I was able to get my money back. That's only the second time I've ever returned a payware program.

Out of the bunch my usual standard load is full world FSG Mesh, Full UTX, ActiveSky Evolution, XGraphics and Autostar.

I've re-installed REX a few times. The first time was a stand alone REX install with it taking full control of the weather and textures. The last time was REX textures but letting ASE handle the weather generation.

I'll try REX again when the new texture pack comes out, but for now I keep gong back to ASE + XG.
