Bad Cats Review:
For something completely different, 21st Century Toys, Inc. debuts its first “Show Scheme” with the Canadian Air Force’s CF-104 Starfighter in a brilliant Tiger-Striped paint scheme for gunnery competitions! At a spectacular 36 inches long, this aircraft has many of the details you have come to expect from 21st Century Toys, including a detailed cockpit with opening canopy, retractable landing gear, historically accurate markings and AIM-9B Sidewinder Missiles. The Starfighter also features moving ailerons and rudder as well as adjustable trailing and leading edge flaps. It comes with one highly detailed pilot action figure with removable helmet and new, improved articulation.

About the F-104 Starfighter:
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is a single-engine, high-performance, supersonic interceptor aircraft that served with the United States Air Force (USAF) from 1958 until 1967 and continued in service with the Air National Guard until it was phased out in 1975. As it was phased out of service in the active military, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) continued to fly a small fleet. NASA F-104s flew in support of the X-15 and XB-70 projects and continued supporting the Astronaut program until they were retired in 1995 and replaced by F/A-18 Hornets. An updated Starfighter sold well among the NATO air forces of Germany, Canada and Italy, where high-speed fighter-bomber versions continued in service until the mid-1980s. The last Italian Air Force examples were retired in 2004.

The later model Starfighter versions gained a reputation for being challenging to fly. Many air forces using F-104s eventually replaced them with the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
