http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=NINOxRxze9k I was emailed this film by my studebaker car club. The idea that I could be watching my family from over a century ago is amazing to me. I must of watched this clip five times in a row.

Sorry. I'm reposting this.
Had problems with the 'pop up' screen that link was tied to.
Here is the version without the pop up window:

Very interesting to watch.
Thanks for the heads up.

EDIT: Wow, I thought traffic was bad these days, there was no sense of traffic flow at all back then.
Loved how the 'horseless carriage just cuts right in front of the trolley along with folks on bikes.

Just think.. later that year the city was pretty much destroyed by the Great Earthquake of 1906.

Yeah, I was thinking that too.
Nothing left of those folks now but images of them...

Also, notice how many wheels were bad, not only on the cars but the horse drawn stuff too.
Everything was out of alignment. :icon_lol:

Looks like too there was no 'Rules of the Road' back then. Pretty much catch as catch can where you wanted to head over to. No notice of stop signs or signal lights.
Yep,.....goofy drivers back then,....goofy drivers on the road today. Hmmmmm,...makes me wonder if it's an inherited disorder?

Fascinating bit of film. I liked the guy galloping up the other side of the street on the white horse, and the kids holding onto the car, lol.

Did you see Picard, Data, and Warf standing inconspicuously off to the right in the first part of that?

I liked the cop dodging his way through the traffic. But all the horses really caught my eye. In 1906 no one was sure if cars were just a passing fad or what.
