I just ordered a copy of X-Plane. I thought it was time to check it out. With FSX no longer in development, I thought it was time to look to the possible future.

I just hope I can get it to work with my cockpit?

I've been playing with X-Plane for quite a while. There are a lot of pluses but as long as we have good developers working on FSX...it wins hands down for me. Good luck my friend on your setup. You will find X-Plane 9.3 very involved and complex but a worthy simulator. I'm looking forward to better Scenery besides their Global Scenery they taut as excellent. I think X-Plane X will be much better for active scenery. Like you said, at least it is still being developed.

It takes a little getting used to and I really hate the new global scenery because there is almost no accuracy to it but it sure has a ton of potential! I have been to the showing of X-PlaneX and I think it is really gonna be worth buying. They did incorporate a lot of features that we now enjoy in FSX. So better to learn how to use X-Plane 9 now so you can fully enjoy the new X-Plane! By the way the forum at X-Plane.org has a lot of info. They are extremely offensive when you mention any other simulator but there is a lot of good info worth looking at. I also recommend the Canadian Rockies and Inside Passage Scenery!
