The ship looks great in what I am guessing to be the Air Force's All Weather Flying Center scheme as also found on the C-46A posted awhile back. My only question would be concerning the model you have placed the colors on, Would it have included a full guns package? My guess here would be no, but then you have all the source material in front of you. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Milton!
Glhorton,
Yes it is. I used to have an article I wrote (but never tried to publish) that listed all the references to pictures of the various aircraft that were used. They flew most everthing in the inventory at the time and pioneered much of the foul weather flying techniques in use today. I think it's one of the best color schemes ever used by the Air Force.
Actually it's a full guns, six gun nose version in the picture I've got, so I'm really looking forward to the six gun version Bomber_12 is releasing soon.

That's great news all around. Given the quality of work which is being produced by this forum, I suspected you had your feet pretty well planted on firm data as you went about painting. Looking forward to placing it in my hangar.

The only thing I can't determine is wether or not it had anti glare panels on the engines. It definetly didn't have one on the nose. That's clear in the picture. As for other types, a few did have them, but most didn't appear to, so I probably won't add them. I think it looks better without. Any thoughts?

In my research experience, if a cowling that normally had anti-glare panels was painted in the field, for instance to apply squadron or group colors, then the anti-glare panel usually was not re-applied. So I say keep it like you have it now. Great repaint!

I've put this on Bomber 12th's six gun nose model as it should be. I redrew the nose panel lines to match the nose.
Thanks, Bomber for the reworked model!
I've got the Alpha channel to create yet, so it'll be a day or two yet. Then I'll post it.

Great repaint Dave. Just downloaded it, need to take it out for a spin...
Real big fan of what I term "oddball" paint schemes, this being one of them :)
Thanks.

Guys,
I had mistakenly included an incomplete version of the wings texture. The correct one has insignia and titles. If you like it without, do nothing. If you want the new one, download, unzip, and move the wings_t.bmp to the texture.awfc folder and over writethe existing file. I uploaded a fix at Avsim and have attached a zip here. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Jeff,
Me too! I hope to repaint a few more. I think I'm going to try a civil one next!
