LONDON - The Bloodhound SuperSonic car was unveiled for the first time yesterday at the Farnborough International Air Show in the south of England after three years of research.

The 13m full-size fibreglass prototype reveals the super-slick shape that the design team believes will enable the car to hit 1610km/h (1000mph), boosted by Eurofighter Typhoon jet engines.

Anyone going there? be good to see some pics

it was at RIAT also (Component parts), no pics from me but the design is bloody beautiful! they're aiming for 1000mph, and i hope they do it...:salute:

In the middle of the BLOODHOUND SSC is the MCT V12 800 bhp race engine which doubles as our APU delivering hydraulic power as needed, starting the EJ200 and of course pumping the High Test Peroxide (HTP) through to the Falcon rocket....

thats quite some powerplant, the EJ200 is what powers Eurofighter Typhoon!

it's cool and all, but this is no longer a "car." It's a rocket with wheels. It'll be cool to try and achieve 1000mph with a car engine, engineering, aerodynamics, etc.

if i add some wings to my car, and then drive it at 1mph, does it break the Slowest Flying Plane record?
