Ive managed to get the Pby started from cold and am flying at 9500ft but cruising along at 100-110knts indicated. What is the noraml indicated cruise speed for the Pby and what do i do if im under cruise and have room for more speed.

When I was much younger I spent time with a number of Canso pilots and the standard line was that the Canso was a true "90 Knot airplane" - climb at 90, cruise at 90, descend at 90 - so if you're getting 100kts, it's gravy, baby!

Remember that the performance envelope was optimized for long range patrol where speed counted for little and fuel burn was king.

"In October 1935 the PBY proved its long distance capability by setting a new world record for sea planes by flying 3,443 miles (5,541 km) in a 35 hour flight from Coco Solo to San Francisco, CA."
