Due to the heat and rains, I've been forced to "hibernate" and work on some indoor hobbies.....
one of them being the keyboards ( piano ).
I discovered this Yiruma piece ( River Flows In You ) a few weeks ago and have pretty much "conquered" it.

I'm currently working on David Lanz's "Cristofori's Dream", but its pretty easy and I should have it down in a few days.

For those of you who are into this kind of music......do you have any suggestions as to what my next "project" should be ( something recent )???

Thanks, LD

lay down some Otis Spann or some Memphis Slim or Booker T or somthing hehe :icon_lol:

One of the most beautiful piano peices I have ever heard is Joe Hisaishi's Fantasia for Nausicaa. It is based on the themesong he wrote for Hiayo Miyzaki's anime Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind.

Amen Cheeze,:jump:

The master boogiemen, Memphis, Otis, Pinetop are always welcome to play here. :ernae:
Or you could have your New Orleans flavor of the piano boogie from Fess, Dr John, Marcia Ball.

Always have room for the Swamp Boogie Queen Katie Webster.
Here is a good boogie jam for you LD

Pete Johnson, Albert Ammons, Meade Lux Lewis and the barrelhouse greats are amazing as well:mixedsmi:

All the best luck Dog, I wish I could read music, I can just improv out some blues. But I know how you feel, nothing like sitting down at the piano sometimes and just playing what your soul feels like.

Good stuff here.

And while we're on Blues piano, let's not forget the master:

94 years old at this recording. Bob Margolin plays guitar here; hails and still lives in Greensboro, NC, see him often.

Now y'all get off yer tuffs and boogie-woogie.

some Master Otis

This young man here appears to have the spirit of Otis within him.

Forgot to mention the great Charles Brown who is also a master boogieman is also a great springboard into Jazz Piano

Here is Dr John providing some tutorial on the boogie.

No sweat guys.......keep 'em coming !! I've been playing blues & boogie for over 40 yrs. ( along with everything else ). As a matter of fact, I was playing a Dr. John piece the other night and halfway thru I noticed the "significant other" had snuck in behind me and was really boogieing down with some dance moves I ain't seen in years !!!

That Joe Hisaishi piece is beautiful !! That's more like what I'm looking for at the moment..... tho I'd probably re-arrange it and make it a little shorter.

Yiruma's "Kiss The Rain" was the first song I'd heard him play on a video. It is so beautiful....
