I stumbled upon a nice program, which makes CCC obsolete in managing 3D settings.

I´ve used the following settings with a HD4850 512Mb graphics card and I´m getting pretty much constant 30 frames per second (locked with FPS limiter) on PNW country side @ max settings, except AG @ dense.

For some reason any other AA mode than multisampling softens my image next to useless and "Disable Aero" options doesn´t restore Aero after closing FSX, but you´ve probably already experimented with the former one and latter one tweak should be applied directly from fsx.exe compatibility settings. AF options make no difference in the simulator.

In addition I´ve included my current fsx.cfg settings. I´m currently experimenting with RejectThreshold and Bufferpool values, because they seem to give some smoothness on my computer for a while, before jumping into GTX camp.

Back in my days I was a big fan of ATI Tray Tools which let you control AA/AF and overclocking straight from your system tray.
RadeonPro doesn't look too bad either though.
