Great Shots Noddy.

Does anyone have an issue with the T-33 crashing one's sim? The aircraft works great for me, but when I go to switch aircraft or close my sim I get a fatal FSX error.

I suspect it has to do with gauges, I've gone through and removed all gauges, and the gauges one by one. If I have no gauges in the aircraft, it works fine. If one gauge is present (does not matter which gauge) I get a fatal error when switching aircraft. Not a terrible problem, but annoying.

Any Ideas?

Chris

Chris

It turns out that not all the gauges are compatible with FSX and FSX-A (which is what I use.). I ended up editing the PANEL.CFG file and removing all of the entries from t33_xx from the main panel window and VC windows. If you have the section 8 F-86, that airplane is from the same era and the gauges will work as replacements. You will need a program such as FS Panel Studio to do this in an efficient manner. This becomes basic aircraft hacking.

Good luck

This happens to me also. And, they are nice shots at that.

I just tried the T-33 with the replacement gauge file using the S8 F-86 gauges. No problem with flying and switching aircraft.

My particular panel.cfg file is which is not the original that was with Piget's aircraft is.

Your screenies are showing some good texture files. Is there a place to get them. I dad used to fly T-33's in SAC.

Radioman,

Thanks for the updated CFG, I will add the SF8 gauge .CAB to the panel folder and update.... I'm just glad that I'm not alone in this problem.

Chris

EDIT: Still had the crash with the new CFG.... then I nixed all the T-33 gauges and it works fine. I'll go back and replace what is appropriate with SF8 gauges. Thanks for the help!

This is really odd, I did replace a few gauges that were '98 ver gauges and not compatible with FSX, but the rest are the originals. Even before I changed those out it loaded and flew fine, just that those gauges didn't show. I'm running FSX/Accel SP2.

There is something in the T-33 gauges. I have not debugged them to find out. I removed them from my gauge directory on FSX-A and things tend to work okay.

The Alphasim F-89 has just about all of these guages, and the A.S. F-86 does too. If you have these models, the guage quality is far superior to that of the freeware Section 8 F-86. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the Section 8 bird, because it's a nice model....but the AS guages are way better.

FALCON: Piglets original guages with the guage dll in the main folder isn't the problem, they work fine. The issue with guages I had stem from the FSX update pack USMCT33B, that has the four Marine Corps liveries.

ahh, ok I didn't download that. Thank you sir.:salute:

That seems to make sense. I grabbed the USMC update (which has an incredible flight dynamic) and I've had these problems since then. What confuses me is that the USMC version didn't come with gauges, I had to download a T-33 package on flightsim.com labeled T-33_ppp.zip. I then grabbed the gauges from that file. Is that file not Conrad's original?

Could it have something to do with the fact that I'm running windows 7?

I'll look into the F-89 gauges. I love the SF8 gauges, but I stare intently at them about 95% of my time in this sim.... would be nice to have slightly different gauges on the T-bird.

Yeah, there is an update pack with the paints and the guages all wrapped up in one. I'm still running Vista 32 bit and I get the crash, so it's not a W7 issue.
