Will be uploaded this evening at Flightsim.com

First one is 'Booby Trap/Miss Jolly Roger'. This particular plane had two different nose arts and names. Miss Jolly Roger noseart didnt come out too great, so just look at her from a distance, LOL!

Do you take requests? I'm looking for a 467th B.G. B-24H Slugger Jr. The aircraft was named for my grandfather who passed away last year. I know someone has done an IL-2 skins for it, but I'm looking for a FSX version.

Thank you all very much!!

kingleo75, For the B-24, yes I definately take requests, especially for personal connections like yours.

Is the photo I have included a picture of the nose art of your Grandfathers plane? If you have any info about any particular markings, that would be a great help. 12572

That's her. She was a B-24H-15-CF, BU # 41-29397 flew with the 788th/790th B.S. 8th AF.

As far as I know, she was painted in a similar scheme to "Witchcraft", Drab uppers with the grey undersides, Red and White Tail outers.

This site has the IL-2 skins that I found, only place I've found anything in color.

RobH, I downloaded all four of your 90th BG Liberators last night. I was thrilled to see these four Liberators, especially "Jolly Roger Express" which is one the planes that my Dad flew in. My father served in the 90th BG, 400th BS from 1942 until the end of the war in 1945. My Dad, Staff Sergeant W.A. Scroggins, was an aerial gunner. When the 90th BG first arrived in the SWP, my Dad was a member of 1st Lt. Willard Hatfield's crew. Later he became a relief gunner, serving in whichever crew needed him. The two Liberators that he flew in the most were B-24D #42-40928 "Twin Nifties II" and B-24D1 #41-24286 "Gone with the Wind". He flew as crew in five or six different Liberators with the 400th BS, but those are the two he flew in the most. My Dad put in a total of 300 hours of combat flying time. After serving those 300 hours he was transferred to the Armament Section in a ground crew. My Dad was active in the 90th BG Reunion Association for many years before he passed away in July 2000 at the age of 78.

I have decided that I am going to fly all four of your 90th BG B-24s on the same route across the Pacific that the 90th BG took from 1942 until they ended the war on the island of Ie Shima, Okinawa in 1945. I am going to start at Hickam Field in Hawaii and fly the Liberators to Samoa, then to New Caledonia, Amberley Field in Australia, Mareeba Airfield in Australia to Iron Range airfield in Australia and then to Port Moresby in New Guinea, to Dobodura Airfield and then to Nadzab Airfield, both in Papua New Guinea. It will take me a while to do these initial legs flying in real time. My Dad would have been thrilled to have seen the great work you did on these Liberators. Thank you for your hard work on these historic planes. Great Job!!!

I have numerous pics that my Dad made during the War with alot of different 400th BS B-24s. I would post them here, but I don't know how to post pics here.

Rob, is there any possibility of your doing anymore repaints for the 90th Bomb Group in the near future? I would love to see a repaint of "Twin Nifties II" 42-40928 400th Bomb Squadron. This was the plane that my Dad flew in the most.

Rob, this is Twin Nifties II. My Dad, Staff Sergeant William Scroggins, is 2nd from the right, with his hand on Twin Nifties II's right breast. This picture always made my Grandmother mad when she saw it!! This photo was taken in 1943 somewhere in New Guinea (probably Dobodura). The signatures on the plane, behind them, are Gary Cooper, Phyllis Brooks, Una Merkel and Andy Arcari.

scroggwe,

I would be honored to paint that plane for you. It will all just depend on how well I can do with painting the noseart. I actually had several photos of this plane with intentions of painting her someday. It will take me a little bit to do, but I will keep you posted.

Hey, that would be great! Whenever you get the time, no hurry. I've actually got a color picture of this nose art in the end papers of my Dad's 90th Bomb Group Jolly Rogers book that was published in 1945 just before the end of the war. I believe there is a reprint of this book out now, but I've got the original that belonged to my Dad. i could scan the end papers for you. I've also got my Dad's original 400th Bomb Squadron (Black Pirates) book, but it is all black & white photos.

Here is another photo of the plane from my Dad's photo collection.

This nose art was painted on both sides of the plane, but Twin Nifties was spelled the way you see it here on the left side of the fuselage. On the right side of the fuselage it was spelled Twin Niftys (with a "Y" instead of "IE"). Not sure why they did that. Here is the right side view:
