Yep, sure is, I hop from the FSX Main Forum, over to FS9 and sometimes the Flight Server, but beyond that, I don't even know the others exist unless I get lost and end up there by mistake, lol.:salute:

Cessna 120. I first learned how to fly in one, N2098V, in 1948.

how many millions of passengers, civilian and military has it safely transported.

how many metric tons of cargo

how many millions of air miles safely flown

Mr Douglas and his people created a masterpiece unrivaled in the air.

Whenever I visit the Travis AFB museum, I see many wonderful planes there, from Century fighters, GA/Scouts, transports, and so on. The plane I spend the most time next to and touching is the C-47. For many reasons it has a place in my heart. For one it is partially responsible for be being alive today. It was the plane my grandfather flew. It was strongly built that it survived the rigors they flew through and allowed my grandfather to have a good life and family after.

It is a beautiful airplane, it is rugged, it can haul cargo, people, anything you can fit in it. It can get to places many planes can't. And after all these years it is still one of the best airplanes around doing the kind of flying it does. It is built to last. It is timeless.

When I am at a grandfather's age, I bet there will still be DC-3s and C-47s flying around, on the clock, hauling loads...not fragile museum showpeice birds. So yeah I am with Heywooood on this one.

This picture sums up the Gooneybird :)

Imagine how many types of flight simmers would buy a quality Gooneybird? Golden Age buffs, Tubliner fans, VA clubs, Warbird nuts, Cargo Haulers and probably a few more genres. It is a plane that has somthing for everybody to enjoy :)

I find myself split between HS Buccaneer, EE Lightning and Republic F-105:

Only way to get a "Brick" airborne... Upto 160 and just tuck the gear and ride the cushion.

12265
The best marque of Lightning... F2a.

12267
And of course... The mighty Thud.

Or as was often said of a Bucc's takeoff....."Gear up, descending to operation altitude!" :d

Ooh there are many Bucc anecdotes :D A much ignored airplane, the very last of the all British Bombers.

I believe I'll join my twin from Bangor, seeing how we're both are old, fat, bald guys and pick out the J-3 Cub. At out age who wants to bore holes in the sky? Just set back and enjoy the wonderful scenery

I have the same feeling here, but when I had to choose only one, it would be the Bf109 Emil.

Cheers,

SEPECAT Jaguar, for no particular reason whatsoever (other that being rather lovely). I just took a shine to it when I was a kid!

A few runners up:
F-4E Phantom II
Panavia Tornado
English Electric Lightning

Ask me on another day and I might include a couple of Soviet types in there, too.
