Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men's health.

Movember has affiliates spanning a fair bit of the world, and has really grown (so to speak) here in Australia over the last couple of years. In Oz Movember raises money for prostate and testicular cancer research as well as funding depression support services.

I think we are mostly manly men here at SOH, and hence like most men are likely to put off a trip to the doctor to get things checked. We should be looking after ourselves better.

A 'Mo-bro' starts the month with a clean shaven face and then grows a mo over the month. Sure we look a bit ridiculous, many try to look like their favourite adult movie star from the 70s, and wives/girlfriends tend to stay away from you for a month, but it all helps money for a good cause - men's health.

For more info visit www.movember.com (http://www.movember.com)

And if you can donate to someone growing a mo for the event then please do. If you want to donate via my fundraising effort then either type in Murray Smith or use my registration Number 1950561

cheers and better health to all
Murray

Hi Muzz,

Man that first shot is right out of some sleazy blue movie from the 70's

Good call highlighting this subject, your right too many men are "I'm to tough to care" sort of attitude.. until something goes wrong that is..

I wont be growing a new mustache, would side burns/rest of the beard count :)

regards Rob.

PS love the Nicolas Trudgian picture in the background. "A desert Victory" its called if my memory serves me well.

I thought I'd put an airplane print in the background given the nature of this forum. Well picked on the title "Desert Victory" by Mr Trudgian - there is nothing wrong with your memory

cheers

As the name might suggest, I have no need to grow one. It's been there so long I'd feel quite naked without it and it's all holding on to the last of my barnett. Nervous members of my family would be severely shaken by the resulting piebald smoothness, so it's staying put, sorry! Good idea, nevertheless.
