Tango,

If you re-call your response to "The Tokyo Raider That Never Was", the first B-25 airplane to arrive at Midcontinent was B-25C 41-12435, I was able to find its record and fate as well as Lt Col Doolittle' s Army P-40 40-324. B-25C 41-12435 was reasigned to the 618 BU at Huntsville Arsenal Field, AL, on July 28 1944 with lLt Edward L. Kreinheder at the controls he crashed landed it at Stuttgart AAF, Arkansas. Lt Col Doolittle's Army P-40 was transfered to Tuskegee AAF for training ops of new pilots. on Apr 24, 1942 Lt Mac Ross took off in P-40 40-324, 10 mi from the field he encounterd mechanical difficulties and bailed out. The way that B-25C 41-12435 was recorded in the Wold-Chamerlin Tower log was just "112435" whic as you said it should have been 41-12435, the log was written in pencil and was done in that matter back in those days the tower operater just wrote the SN of the plane quickly...no PC then. When I started researching the B-25C and the P-40 in the early 1980s there were no PCs or I just did not know about them, it was by talking to people and correspondence.

Cheers
