For you to test the virtues of our new B-24 here´s a surprise trip to Pantelleria, a pre-Ploesti low level mission !!

and they also performed some missions during Operation Husky, the invasion of Sicily, just before the Ploesti mission. They stopped bombing missions a few weeks before the Ploesti raid for training and preparation.
