On Flightsim.com today, there's a FDE update to Team FS KBT's F/A-18E. I had it installed at one time, but no longer do.

When I go to their website, the download link to it does not work. Although a file or two refers to the file being available on AVSIM, it apparently is not there.

Cannot find it on Flightsim.com either.

Any help? I need the base installation file for Team FS KBT's F/A-18E

Thanks.

http://www.flightsim.com/p/fa-18efg_fsx_fs9.gif FS2004/FSX FA-18E, F And EA-18G Petit-Improvement. The team has improved the FA-18 series a little. It is not an entire version that has already been released. The flicker of black VC view and a part of texture etc. by FSX have been improved though it is limited models. By Team FS KBT.

When you read the file description (by the way, the FS KBT link looks like the attached picture when I click on it),

it sounds like another file is needed. Is this the entire model? Thanks ....NC

It all depends which version you want - try these

v2.0 base file = http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=75212

v2.0 update to v2.2 = http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=76370

v2.2 update to v2.31 = http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=76402

v4.1 base file = http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=67488

hope that helps,

NC, were you able to use this? I had DL'd it months ago (prior to the VRS S-bug coming out) and the VC was completely blacked out, except for the HUD.

Nope. I installed everything, but couldn't get rid of the blackout screen, like you mentioned. I removed everything. Am sure there is a way to fix it, but could not figure it out.

I noted an update to this model on Avsim today, for issues related to FSX use.

According to FlightSim's version, the "update to this model" looks as if it's a fix or replacement for the file originally posted by NC -

Name: fa-18efg_fsx_fs9_2_1.zip (http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=147168) Size: 5,699,394 Date: 06-10-2010
http://www.flightsim.com/p/fa-18efg_fsx_fs9_2_1.gif FSX FA-18E, F And EA-18G Petit-Improvement. The team has improved the FA18 Hornet a little. It is not an entire version that has already been released. It's the version of the limited part, the improvement which is a black VC view in an FSX mainly. And more than one small improvement was done. It roughly suits fsx. This data is only a changed file. FA18 that we have already released is necessary. The reflection power of E type has been decreased. Please use this FA-18EFG_FSX_FS9_2_1.ZIP (http://www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARCH1&fsec=0&fname=FA-18EFG_FSX_FS9_2_1.ZIP). FA-18EFG_FSX_FS9.ZIP (http://www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARCH1&fsec=0&fname=FA-18EFG_FSX_FS9.ZIP) might be unnecessary. By Hiroaki Kubota / Team FS KBT.

I have not tried this yet. Would be interested in knowing if anyone else has, and if it works. I spent quite a while yesterday, trying to get rid of the black background. Problem is there isn't any instructions in English that would help me to figure out the correct installation of files. NC

I had spent a bit of time in the past trying to fix the blacked out VC of this aircraft as the externals are quite good. I came to the conclusion that the problem lay in the model file. I have just tried the fix and sure enought the VC glass has now been sorted. For the 2 seater there were I believe 8 model files in the original release but be aware that there are only 4 fixed model files so you will need to delete the non fixed variants from the config file. A couple of screenshots showing the revised vc and the nice externals are attached. One is of Barry Mgann's repaint of an Aussie aircraft and is not included in the original file.

Thanks Raptor. A little later on this afternoon, I will try and resort it all! And reinstall. NC

Forgot to say that the sorted VC glass screenshot and the other externals are FSX Acceleration. Fairly straightforward fix but if anyone has a problem then send me a PM.
