I found it necessary to take out the Waco for a spin today.

I didn't know about this, can someone tell me how I can get the glider and the C-47 paint? Is it freeware or payware, please?

They are freeware. The glider is my wacocg4.zip at flightsim and simviation. Please note it is a portover designed with FSX in mind. It doesn't even make a blip in frame rates in FSX. I found the D-Day paint by searching C-47 D Day at flightsim.

Awesome Paul.

To all those souls that fought so hard in that battle. May they never be forgotten.

Amazingly, I found some instruments online for sale (looking for gauge textures) and there were some compass assemblies for the Waco gliders for sale, leftover surplus.

Got the WACO glider but so far all D-Day paints are for the FS9 default DC-3. Is the DC-3 in your screenshot a portover FS9 DC-3?

Hot nabs, that's superb Paul!

More personal stories

Got a paint and a portover C-47, glider flys nice, smooth, no fluttering, :guinness::icon29::guinness::medals: Two screenys from the pathfinder mission.

As a teen farmboy I recall talking to vets of WWII, some from post D-Day France. At this time of the year I do a lot of D-Day FSX simulations. Need Upottery airfield, anyone?
