For our fallen brothers and sisters.
It's raining here today
tears from Heaven
and rolling thunder
Angels on our shoulders
carry on, carry on, they say
the world is still imperfect
What sacrifice, and bravery
that last measure of devotion
is not forgotten
Imagine the world
without that day...
we owe them at least that
It could have been yesterday
it could have been tommorrow
it could have been you, or I

My father was there that day and I always think of him on the anniversary.

Phenozo -
Most people today would barely know the significance of this date. Unfortunately, many/most of the current generation wouldn't know what you'd be describing at all.. the best one might get is.. "Oh, you mean like Pvt. Ryan?"
If not for the extraordinary sacrifice of those ordinary men..think of how frightening
"civilization" would be today.

God Bless our vets..
June 6th is one the most important dates in Our history, and I do realize most of the "younger generation" don't have a Clue..
But as long as History continues, I do pray, we the allies Never Forget..
BRAVO.. to all who fought and died for our freedoms..

Just to add my Amen.
It is amazing what the younger generation (by which I mean 25 and younger) doesn't know.
They are aware of a great many things, but they don't KNOW anything.
Life seems to them a great blur of MTV-like images leaving them with only impressions without any substance.
End of rant.
