Today I was playing FS98 and my monitor suddenly froze and a bunch of gray bars appeared horizontally across the screen in different shades and nothing would respond, not even CTRL+ALT+DEL. I turned the power off of my machine and re-started it normally. When It restarted the screen had a style to it like FS98 where the colors were made of highly noticeable different colored pixels, I waited then the colors on the desktop went inverted. Then after starting in safe-mode then rolling back my graphics card drivers and a few more restarts the screen just fixed itself. There are a few items in the system tray that are still not corrected but I am wondering three things.

How do I fix the system tray icons
Is this a software or hardware problem
Should I replace my graphics card

This is not the machine that I play Flight Simulator on, although I used to play FSX on it.

The graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 6150se Nforce 430 (I believe it is an onboard graphics unit)
I could really use some help here
