I've been a Firefox man for years and currently am on 3.6.3. (Vista 32-bit) It has recently slowed to a crawl, especially loading the home page (about half a minute) and navigating certain sites, including this one.

Tried some of the recommended tweaks ( editing about:config, removing add-ons, browser history etc) but it's gradually wheezing to a halt.

Any ideas other than the obvious reverting to IE, Chrome or Opera ?????

I'm using 3.6.3 under XP-32 bit, no problems at all. Maybe you have a Vista issue or something running in the background that is slowing Firefox. Could be spyware, virus or an overly aggressive anti-virus program.

I would have to agree that it is the computer or another program, not firefox.Go to your task manager and see what's using all of your cpu.:d

There's nothing hogging CPU usage, which is quite low anyway. I have tried completely disabling my Kaspersky - no difference.

Think I will try to get back to an older version - my laptop works fine on 3.0.19. (That also means it ain't a router problem, as has been suggested.)

There is a lot of angst out there on various forums about 3.6.3 - I am not the only one having this problem. Thanks anyway.

I have 3.6.3 on 4 different computers, runs fine.I have a friend who had the 2010 version of Kaspersky and he had to delete it as it slowed the whole show down.I had run the 2009 version with no problem as had he.
