Because it's such a challenge....but sometimes you can get one that works just the way you want it.

Nice shot of the dog.

If it was me, I would crop the other dog out of the shot. All he does is clutter the image and take away from the main attraction.

Yeah...there's plenty of modern digital enhancements. Capturing just the right look and light was the real challenge.

Hi snuffy. These dogs belong to a mate of mine...he's a bachelor type person like me....in his case the dogs are his kids. And they can be worst trouble than the human kind.

And how many times did you have to shoot deer before they posed that way for you? :)

The kids are adorable.

I came by this thread because it was listed at the bottom of the page as a "related" thread while I was looking at the Animals thread in the FS9 forum. To tie into this thread since I am here, if ya'll want a challenging photo shoot with animals....try taking to get good pics of fish in your aquarium...especially the fast swimming, active ones. I take a hundred shots and get blur, blur, blur, blur, blur....99 shots of colorful blurs and one halfway decent pic that shows a fish. I now find it easier to put my digital camera on video mode, take a 5 minute video, then take it into a video editor and take a "snapshot" of a frame here and there.

You're right there Obio. That's how I got the doggie shot at the top. It's actually 1 still frame from a piece of HD video I shot. There was some bits and pieces of it where the light was just right for what I wanted.

Naismith

I liked the pic of that big ol' German Shepherd head so much I saved it to my Aircraft Images folder that I use as a photo screen saver.

Cats take good pix, they're relaxed enough. Especially my Puddin' Haid. Dogs are too hyper.

Flashlights and animal shots just don't work...that I do know, end up with big glowing eyes that are difficult to do anything with.
