I didn't know that GE Smith played with Hall and Oates!!

The Apollo is the greatest theatre ever. I loved the late night show. I used to laugh like a madman when the clown used to come blasting in.

.

"he was hired to play lead guitar for Hall & Oates (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hall_%26_Oates). He stayed for six years (1979–85) constantly touring and recording with them, with songs like "Private Eyes", "Maneater", "Kiss On My List" and others. "It was insanely fun," he recalls. "

My grandfather took me there when I was a little boy. The Amateur Nights were famous; think American Idol, with every person in the audience playing Simon Cowell. If you weren't coming correct, the audience had ZERO inhibitions about letting you know.
