Mike~ I really enjoyed all of your pictures, but I fell in love with your "tractor" shot! WOW! This is frame worthy! All the colors look "subdued", which works perfectly for an "old iron" shot. The skies, the wheat surrounding the tractor, all come together to give it that perfect "vintage" look.

Like C9G, that first shot of the tractor is framer all the way. Love that last shot of the barnyard too. Good stuff! :ernae:

Great Pics Mike! Fordson blue and Oliver green are just fine since there is a 560 in the pic. :d I didn't grow up on Fordson but I did on Fords (8n and NAA) (cattle ranchers) while the other side of my family (dryland wheat) was Farmall (M), Case (LA) and combines, a Minne Mo (I don't recall the model) and even an old Deere two cylinder (maybe a B but not sure).

As for the Oliver I've always thought I'd love to find a 2255 FWA with a Cat V8 - talk about a tough looking and I suspect great tractor.

I also noticed the 2 New Holland balers - I've spent a fair bit of time in front of a small square New Holland baler.

Never seen a fanning mill before - interesting.

I love the pic of the Gleaner - Thank goodness for the Baldwin Brothers producing such a great combine.

As for the place I'd trade the mountains and oceans of Vancouver Island for the prairies any day. To me the sight of wheatfields waving in the wind is far prettier than waves rolling in on a beach but I suspect that is just my Montana roots showing through. I also have to admit I grew up on a lot of North Dakota jokes but will refrain. :d

Hey All,

Nice threshing machine pics! Looks like the one my grandparents were using well into the 1960s. Since they only did an occasional rotation of oats they couldn't justify a combine so it was a binder shock the bundles and then use a threshing machine!

As for the Ski Doo I remember well the yellow with black stripe ones from the early/mid 60s. Always wanted an Artic Cat though back then.
