Always strange to see such lenses being made where's a decent alternative with much better image quality (70-400), bigger range and probably faster focusing..

Ok, it is twice the price, but better 1 excellent lens than two average ones, in my opinion. For that amount of money Sony users should rather get the 70-300G SSM which is only € 100 more, but probably far superior to the Sigma (sharp all focal lengths, even wide-open), or Sigma's 100-300 f/4 DG APO HSM. Or the 70-400...
