Greetings All,

I have been flying the European and Pacific theatres and OFF's Between Heaven and Hell for some time now, but I would like to make a move to the Mediterranean campaigns. Is there somewhere current to download and/or purchase the MAW expansion for CFS3? I cannot find a working download link anywhere, nor a place to purchase a DVD. Any help from you folks would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Lou

MAW/PTO/OFF multiplayer co-ops almost every day on the OFF/BH Teamspeak2 server. If you're interested contact me here or on the OFF forum (I'm aka Winston):salute:

MAW is unbelivable, the more I play and the more things and stuff I discover. I've got some projects of missions.

I must say that MAW truly is a work of art, not unlike the latest OFF edition. And, I discovered this early AM that with rather minimal effort I can fly all those wonderful WWI birds in the Mediterranean and relive some of the Great War excitement in the skies of that arena as well. Here are a few screenshots I took of a flight and an encounter I had with an Alb DIII. Enjoy, (I know I am).

Many thanks again to HH for steering me to the download, and for the dev team who put together the beautiful MAW package, (as well as the outstanding OFF kit). My hat's off to you all.

Cheers!

couldn't agree more......MAW's one of the most beautiful....under-utilized spin off's out there imho.....love seeing OFF ported over to a weird landscape......what did you have to do to make 'em show up, behave, and sound right.....if you please?

Hello gaw, haven't seen you about for a while mate, (but then I haven't been around the forums much at all as of late). To answer your question, the tweak is surprisingly straightforward. I started with a fresh CFS3 install for the MAW package, and once I had that up and running and the config set where it works best for my rig, I made a copy of the MAW install as a fallback. I then made the following changes, (so far):

"aircraft" folder: copy and paste all the folders in the OFF "aircraft" folder, (except the "shared" folder), into the matching MAW folder, allowing any files that ask to overwrite.

"shared" folder inside the "aircraft" folder: copy and paste all the files in OFF "shared" folder into matching MAW folder, allowing any files that ask to overwrite.

"sounds" folder: copy and paste all the files in OFF "sounds" folder into matching MAW folder, allowing any files that ask to overwrite, and then delete all the .gvp files.

Inside the "effects" folder: copy and paste all the files in OFF "flak" folder and "fxtextures" folder into matching MAW folders, allowing any files that ask to overwrite.

"pylons" folder: copy and paste all the files in OFF "pylons" folder into matching MAW folder, allowing any files that ask to overwrite.

"weapons" folder: copy and paste all the files in OFF "weapons" folder into matching MAW folder, allowing any files that ask to overwrite.

"buildings" folder: copy and paste a_hangarl1, a_hangarl2, a_hangarl3, a_hangars1, a_hangars2, a_hangars3, g_hangarl1, g_hangarl2, g_hangarl3, g_hangars1, g_hangars2, g_hangars3, in OFF folder into matching MAW folder, allowing the files to overwrite.

I am still swapping in vehicles, buildings, and such as I run across them to try and have more accurate Great War surroundings, and eventually I will build some missions based on historical events from this arena.

One note to remember, all the OFF aircraft files are tagged for either the United States or Germany so you will only see the plane choices in those countries' plane lists when flying quick combat or quick missions.

Cheers!

Lou
