I don't know?, I don't have the Flt1 lslander for now, so can not say what's included.

Waiting for an Belgian texture to show up.

Short info - no military paints included. So there is a wide range for repainters.

No, it doesn't come with a British Army scheme - that's one that probably should be on someone's list.

I've got Mrs. P doing the bright yellow Hebridean Air Service one to go with my little Colonsay scenery, because she has Photoshop Elements, which will actually open the paintkit (my PSP X2 threw a fit at the layers).

Unfortunately Colonsay won't be becoming available because phototextures for the UK are far from free and the only GeoTIFFs available for the area are Ordinance Survey at £36 per tile plus a license fee per year it is in use. I might release it for users of the commercial Scottish photoscenery when that area becomes available though, seeing as ACES missed it out altogether! :(

Aren't the Army ones BN-2T's with turboprops?

I would pray for an expansion pack in the future but I'm afraid that it's taken so long to develop that expansions won't be forthcoming.

Or here is a few of Sifton Air up here in the Arctic. There basically the only operator of the BN-2 north of the 60th. If your interested in paint one for us Canadians, I can get more pics Saturday from the FBO at YZF.

My Photoshop elements does not like the paintkit on this product - it has to merge and repair some of the layers and so again i have the prob of not being able to change the alpha - so i seem to be stuck with a matt finish.

Too right, they've flown under a few different schemes with the RAF and UKAA over the years so it would be great if someone could go to town with them.

I'm feeling a lot of lovely fictional repaints coming on if the paintkit is well laid out...

It`s not really that hard to add the alpha layer to a repaint.
Here is what i tend to do: First, Export the existing alpha from one of the repaints allready in the package. (using dxtbmp) Then... Import it to your repaint bmp file. All you then have to do is to convert the bmp to dds. (I use imagetool for that)

Voila! a nice shiny plane. :)

Like others have said the original was/is pretty battered and worn. I would be tempted to give it maybe a little bit of shine (i.e. not totally flat) but nowhere near the shine you would see on a regular aircraft.

You might want to revise the manual to include the undocumented feature of combined operation of throttle, props and mixture...

Which is, in case anyone else is wondering, is by left mouse clicking on the `close`, `feather` or `cut-off` markings on the pedestal. Left click to combine engines, left click again to separate.

There is no mention of this in the manual, on the kneeboard, in any of the literature or on the official support forum.

That scheme really changes the shape in side view. But maybe it is more due to the fact that it is a turboprop? Interesting scheme though.

I think the side profile is different- the nose cone looks like it has been replaced by a radome, like the BN-2T's that fly in the UK for the forces etc.

Chris Brisland has done the Hebridean scheme that I was after, a N-reg San Juan and an NZ Mountain Air one - they're at his website: http://www.eagleskinner.com/GAdownloads.htm

I have in mind a couple Caribbean carriers (actually someone asked me to one of them the week of release) but I've been busy with other projects and now am fighting the Islander paint kit. It doesn't like my lowly old version of PhotoShop 6 and/or PSP 7. Slightly bummed. Same with the paint kit in the AS Yak-52.

Nice skin. Is this in the repaint section?

I have found the links being
http://www.mediafire.com/file/my5wmz454yt/Flight 1 BN-2A Islander repaint Aurigny GAXWR.zip and
http://www.mediafire.com/file/jtzzmnzyymn/Flight 1 BN-2A Islander repaint Rockhopper G-XAXA.zip

One for Aurigny, and the other for Rockhopper. The problem is they are locked as private in Mediafire, therefore no one has access to them. The question was if anyone has a coppy can they email me a WORKING link please.

Lets hope some has a copy

This is a texture for the Flight1 BN2 Islander in the livery of Air Sarnia. The airline used both islander and trislander aircraft in and around the Channel Islands and to the UK and France

This is a texture for the Flight1 BN2 Islander in the livery of Aurigny Air Services circa 1971. Aurigny was set up in 1968 to fill the gap left by BUA when they no longer opperated in to Alderny, and at the time only flew to Guernsey, Jersey, Alderny, Southampton and Cherbourg back in those days.

This is a texture for the Flight1 BNS Islander again in the livery of Aurigny, but this is the last livery that the islander wore whilst in the service of Aurigny, by this stage they were most used for freight.
I hope you guys enjoy there liveries and to make it more realistic ignore normal ATC procedure and joining instructions. Also as a general rule inter island northbound tended to fly at 1000' and south bound at 2000', I think the idea was to keep them out of the way of normal people :icon_lol:

thanks for the coment. It is the same aircraft, however Airfix did get the colour wrong Aurigny should be a Chromeite yellow as on these repaints
