Hi guys,
I'm having a problem I never experienced before with pieces of my new Gmax project, flaps and ailerons : They are build, an I want to adjust the pivot points so that they rotate the right way in CFS2. But when I try moving them using the "affect pivot only" option, the pieces move with their pivots ????
Any idea ?

Wow, never heard of this one.
A vague shot in the dark, maybe a video driver issue?
Try to select heidi drivers from the preferences menu (customize - preferences - viewports - choose drivers) and see if that solves the issue.
If positive you'll at least know what the cause is :icon33:

I had that too before, I can't rem how I to get round it, but I think it's mainly when the object has been attached to other objects or deformed in some way.
Did you try resetting the pivot point to centre of object first? Does choosing different co-ord options "local" "parent" etc make any difference?

Mathias : Tried what you suggested, no joy

Polovski : Yes, I reset the pivot to center it to the object, it does work without affecting the object's position, but anyway I try then to rotate the pivot (local, world, etc...), the object moves. Tried to unlink from parent (wing), same thing. Tried to clone the object first, no change...

I'm really lost with this one ! (I have only 2 objects affected, all the others behave quite normally !)

Bruno, no suggestions, just a question- has the object orientation arrow changed on the suspect parts when you click on effect pivot- or does it remain as the modifier arrow?

Mabbe hitting the reset xform button from the utility tab and then convert to e-mesh may help?

Mathias,
nope, still no joy... think I will just rebuild these parts from scratch !

Forget it guys, I just rebuilt the 2 parts, took me 10 minutes and all is fine now !

Thanks anyway for the assistance :ernae:
