Simplest answer? i-7 is better for running FSX. i-5 is better for your wallet. :wiggle:

Get an I7. I have I5 and it was completly waste of money regarding the FSX. It runs much worse than on my C2D E8200. I had to apply few tweaks to the cfg to run it on the "normal" settings, but still Iam not satisfied. I have no idea why it is that, but some i5's 2,66 just don't work OK with the FSX. I talked with some guy on another forum who has the same problems like me. He changed mainboard, ram and nothing... He then switched to the I7 860 for the 1156 socket (same as the i5) and he has no problems at the moment.

I actually run an I5 and I'm getting 30FPS with all maxed out.

But where are you flying at ?

What aircraft?

What add ons are you running?

Running any traffic?

Running any weather programs?
