This coming Saturday, May 8th, is the annual Letter Carriers' Food Drive.
For those of you in the U.S., if you would kindly leave your non-perishable food donation in a bag by your mailbox, your mailman/mailwoman will gladly pick it up for those in need.
I don't need to tell you how many people rely on food banks nowadays. Every donation helps, even if it's just a can of soup that's been sitting in your pantry for the last few months. This is the largest one day food drive in the country, and food banks throughout the U.S. are desperate this time of year for any donations. Big corporations are getting in on this too. Campbell's soups will be donating 1 million cans of soup for the drive. I'll be reminding you a couple of times this week, so try not to get too annoyed with me.
<---------------Thanks from your "local" mailman!
