Gents, not sure if anythign pertaining to this has been posted here before but I thought I would put this up:

Wow! By the time the F-105's were finally withdrawn from reserve and national guard service, they were pretty well worn out. All that high speed, heavy payload stress during their over worked lives really took its toll. Most, if not all, had reached the point at which there were significant cracks in the wings, specifically, the bolt holes where the wings connected to the fuselage. I would think that restoration of an F-105 to airworthy status would be a monumental task.
