Premier Aircraft Design's Do328-110. Nice work guys, although it's technically not a -110 since it's missing the spoilers. ;)
Other than that, the rendition is okay, although I think my version is way better in terms of modeling. Then again, you just wanted to get the whole thing done in due time and not spend a few dozen months on the exterior alone like me. Heh.
I like your VC gauges, especially the EICAS!
So congratulations on the first "complete" rendition of the Do-328 series in MSFS freeware history, PAD! :ernae:

II.)
Vitus' Blériot IX. A recent version with a completely new fuselage frame, soundset and the latest airfile. Couldn't see the supposed RPM-dependant smoke effects. Might be a missing .fx file. The sound didn't sound much differently to the last version I've flown, but the soundset isn't done yet. Visually, the fuselage framewaork somehow looks better. I can't remember the wood cracks in the VC right above the throttle lever for example.
The new airfile makes her a royal beech to fly. I couldn't manage to bring her farther than one and a half kilometers without panthering everything. :isadizzy:
Might need to ask Vitus for hints on flying this thing.

III.)
Ivan Juréaga's MiG-21F on approach to Gnoien airfield. The GDR air force once in a while really used the rough field capabilities of their fighters by sending a squadron to one of those emergency grass strips. Landing a touchy fighter on soft grass is a challenge on its own, so needless to say I really panthered up a few seconds after.
The airfield is part of another project of mine, namely getting at least one east german airfield and fighter squadron back on track. So far I've done a small object library containing of hardened shelters, grass blast walls and concrete blast shields (both in various sizes) and lamp posts, but that's a lot less than required for a believable rendition (the FSX default objects just don't cut it for eastern bloc installations). The plan is to have Neubrandenburg AB in a hybrid modern and 1990 state and filled with appropriate traffic (so far on the list: An-24, An-2 and MiG-21MF in generic east german colors) which flies between the air base and the airfield at Gnoien as well as the temporary relief base at Heringsdorf (which, interestingly enough has been a hybrid civilian/military airport ever since the 1950s to 1990).
Let's see when I get everything done...

P.S: Sorry for the awful camera angle in the last four screenshots. Wheelcam decided to kick the bucket and left me with the default spot camera only. :/

:/

Thanks for your generous praise Bjoern.
You're right about not wanting to spend a very long time on each model, we do have real lives too, even so, the Do328T represents four months (part time) work for two people. On the spoiler thing, we were lucky, we didn't know this bird had spoilers until we'd finished the modeling and animation and then we found out that spoilers are an option specified (or not) by the buyer. Sooo...our buyer did not specify. :icon_lol:
We will be releasing the Do328JET next week and that will have ground spoilers. The Do328JET must be one of the very few commercial jets that does not have reverse thrust .... a bit less animation to do !

Err, I still need the model as an attention creator. It makes for a lot more thread views if coupled with my 328. So I kind of need this exclusive right. :icon_lol:

Right, they really are "just" an option (despite a widely chosen one). I totally forgot that. Heh. :d

Yeah, so thank goodness for a good pair of brakes and spoilers. :icon_lol:

ive always loved the DO-328 for one reason. it's forward profile looks like Jar Jar Binks with his ears flapping.. ::chuckles:: it also flys really nicely.. :D

Jar-Jar Binks?!?

I've suddenly lost all interest in the 328. :icon_lol:

it also flys really nicely.. :D

With a light load, 10000 fpm after takeoff aren't that unusual.

heyyyyy ::LOL: I LKE Jar Jar.. he's so stupid hes funny... but hes also a friendly looking character.. something missing in a lot of commercial planes.. The 328 looks fliemdly, and fun not only as someone who plays with them in sim, but from a passengers standpoint as well.. it looks sturdy it has a solid stance on the ground, and it isnt too god awful big.. Its over all success around the world point towards its longevity as its still being flown by some airlines.. Great littl plane :) :) i love em :)..

I always wondered if that was a real number or just bad programming on some fde engineers part.. Silly thing wants to be a rocket ship when it grows up0 and a twin engined fighter till then..

Its over all success

No, not at all. It's durable, yes but so specialized that it never had the breakthrough on the market it deserved.

It may not be a complete failure like the Convair 880/990 for example but 214 aircraft of both versions doesn't sound like a huge success if you consider Bombardier sold almost 300 examples of the smaller Dash 8s (-100/Q200) alone. If you subtract the odd 50 planes in storage, you'll end up with about 90 -1x0s and 70 -300s in service. Compare that again to the Dash 8s and, the jet version, to the Emb-135 with about 120 units in service.
It gets even more staggering if you take the Sabb 340 into account which sold over 400(!!) times.

Dornier simply suffered from the "too little, too late" syndrome.

- Edit: Other competitiors are the Emb-120 (~200 units) and the JS-41 (~50), the latter selling even worse than the 328.

About 1950hp each in the engine pods, 14000kg MTOW and a wing for high speed operations make for an interesting ride.
The competition, namely the Dash 8 and Saab 340 only offer a standard straight wing and slightly less power output at about the same MTOW.

- Edit: The only competitor remotely roaming in the 328s performance spectrum is the Emb-120.

I read yesterday that the 328 offered an optional HUD (in a turboprop!). Might take that into account when doing the VC...

UUUgh.. I hate yhe EMB 120.. one of them had an engine rip itself off the wing, and although everyone survives the crash, most were burned up in the fire that resulted from it.. Baaaaad joo joo.

That wasn't actually Embraer's fault. If there was someone to blame it was the prop manufacturer (Hamilton...I think?).

"Air Crash Investigation" also had an episode on the failed blade case ("Wounded Bird" or so was the title).
