Stuart Green's venerable Fokker D.VII is for one of the classics for FS9. Now thanks to work done by Nils and others at Sim-Outhouse, Stuart's masterpiece can now be flown in FSX as well. Should you have FSX and wish to fly Stuart's Fokker D.VII, download and install the FS 2004 download as you would any for FSX ported over. Then see the below installation instructions on how to install the new model (.mdl) files and the new dsd_xml_gauge3.gau file. The old dsd_xml_gauge3.gau file for FS 2004 will not work in FSX.

This is a repaint I did this morning while it was raining here. It represents a Fokker D.VII flown by Ltn Gustav Frädrich of Jasta 72 while based at Bergnicourt in July 1918. After service with FA 30 in Macedonia, Frädrich returned to the Western Front going to Jasta 39 in 1917, but then to Jasta 1 in January 1918. He made his first claim with FA 30 downing a Farman, but did not score again with either Jasta 39 or 1, He was posted to Jasta 72 in march 1918, remaining with the Staffel until the end of the war, scoring five victories and becoming Staffelfuhrer in October 1918. he received the Iron Cross 1st Class.

Textures are in the zip for FS9 and FSX. FS9 textures are 888-8 bitmap and FSX textures are DDS DXT5.

Thanks for the heads-up Caz. I'm very, very partial to vintage aeroplanes so I'll give it a go. :)

Hmmm. You might have to check that link Caz, there's nothing there.

When I clicked on the link i was first transferred to the bla bla page re add-ons, then after accepting conditions I ended up on the FSX Skin page with the message:
"There is nothing here to show you (no permission, all entries hidden, etc)"

There was a box for FSX skin below it, so I clicked on that, but that only holds the latest FSX skins, no D.VII.

Hi Caz
What's wrong with my Fokker ...
very good texture, but for the interior2 texture (no sides and no floor)
Everything else superior quality
5324
(Stuart's interior textures are fine)
Any suggestions????

Is that FSX Italo?

If so, did you use the new model (.mdl) file included in the zip? All textures are in the zip, I checked, the only problem I can imagine would be the .mdl file in FSX. All should be fine in FS9.

As a side, I found that the 888-8 32-bit bitmap propwash from FS9 worked better in FSX than the DDSDXT5 format. so you folks may wish to swap the bitmap from the FS9 textures for the propwash in FSX.

Yes, is FSX
And I tried not to use your new .mdl and use Stuart's interior2.bmp texture but no change
Below Stuart's interior2.bmp texture as it appears in other models..
Tks, anyway, for your answer .... I'll probably try something else
