hey guys...
i pop here and there and ive been following the project, its looking great!
i came across this link tonight i hope this can help milton with the air intake issues thudpilot mentioned on another thread, http://photo.163.com/photos/inavigation/25550170/
ive been looking at the W.I.P shots of the model on the sim, and i was wondering if the dynamic shine could be modified a little, maybe try and get a shine similar to the rick piper models, i can post up the material definition i use in FSDS3, im not completely happy with it but it's the closes ive gotten to a realistic looking glare, im attaching the results seen on FS2004, thematerial is used with a slight reflection on the texture to get a "polished" finish. the reflectiveness is very very slight, kind of like the kind you get after waxing your car.
i use this concept on my Smith Miniplane, both with reflective textures paired up with the part using the specular material, as well as just specular shine alone for the cloth-covered parts.
the shots are taken on FS9, for the miniplane i covered the reflective parts with a light light grey alpha channel and masked the panel lines, so the 'panels' are reflective but the lines are not, giving it a 'bump' effect from some perspectives.
if you wanna see the reflective idea im talking about i use the 'technique' on my smith miniplane. available for download at simV and AvSim i believe.
i though to give that sugestion maybe it can be used with the invader and make it look even better:wiggle:
i hope you find the link useful:jump:
