After much effort (remember I'm a rookie) I produced my first repaint ever for FSX (or any other flightsim actually). This is a plane that holds a soft spot in my heart as it is the one I did both my initiation flight and my first solo. It belongs to the Athens Aeroclub and is based in Tatoi (LGTT) north of Athens. This plane has been beaten badly by all us interpid aviators trying to learn to fly and its nosewheel has felt the pain quite often. The red colour has faded and adopted this sligh pinkish shade that I tried to achieve. The photo of the real thing below was taken after my first solo.

Unfortunately I could not replicate the livery 100% due to the fact that Carenado does not provide mapped textures for both sides. So I could not include the greek lettering "ΑΕΡΟΛΕΣΧΗ ΑΘΗΝΩΝ" in the nose as it would look mirrored. The same applies to the F-152II and REIMS/CESSNA on the nose and tail fillet. Also the registration letters had to be shrinked to fit the limited space provided by Carenado. If they ever decide to remap their models I would be happy to complete it.

Now I have to sit down and finish my Tatoi scenery so that you can use this plane at the right environment. I also intend to produce all the club's 152s and 172s to complete the picture.

The repaint is uploaded here at SOH. http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?catid=3&linkid=331

Comments of course always accepted, criticism makes better.

Very nice mate. To cure the mirrored texture problem with this model, download this one (http://www.justflight.com/microsoftc152.asp):ernae:

Wow! That`s a nice paint job.

My first repaint was nowhere even close to this standard. Well done! :salute:

Thank you all for the encouraging words. Actually I must admit that the Carenado base blank texture was quite good in that it included all shadows and stuff, I just added and aligned the red and black areas and added some slight paint chipping on the edges. Fitting the registration letters was the most difficult part.

This is my next project down the line and the plane I wish to graduate to after I finish my PPL (hopefully any time soon):

If you need an alternative mirror, Avsim has the repaint now as well.

Nice work!
