Hello everybody,
today is a great day, why?
Because the FSX version of the Cap10B by Samdim design is just released.
You can download it there
http://samdimdesign.free.fr/
This light aerobatic aircraft has a realistic FDE (it took 28 months to improve this flight model).
I'm sure some of you will take some good time with this french stunt airplane.

be careful of G meter!!!!!

Thanks for the HU..enjoyed this model in FS9 despite the FDE...looks like this one will be even better with improved FDE.

I loved this model in FS9 but I have to say the FDE in this one is likely a bit off. The roll rate seems way to low considering the CAP-10 is equipped with Aileron Spades(accelerators). The original model seemed closer. It also seems a wee bit sluggish in the power curve.

That's no dwarf, that's the French president.

I had given up on the Cap10 for FSX so it's great to see it getting released. I did a couple of Aussie paints for the FS9 version and will have to look at them again to see if they will work with the FSX version.

Agree with you.
The pilot figure looks too small in my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm right. :)

Had a look at the repaints and had to make a few mods to get them working with the FSX version. Uploading to avsim now.

one thing great looking model but the flight dynamics are not quite my taste as it is not as capable of aerobatics as I want it to be but we have a great tourer which is also good

I think you have to open that in Wordpad - I've seen that with a few other aircraft.

I've never used "wordpad". . .always notepad and never saw this before, so I just spent about 15 minutes or so redoing the entire thing.:salute:

Next time just open with wordpad. Make a small change and save it. Then you can open with wordpad and the aircraft.cfg file should display correctly.

that is very bad for every repainter and people who want to make tweaks to other parameters I doesnt think it is supposed to look like this

Strange

thanks to Dave that sort that problem :)

Much better now that the awful vc dynamic movement in the FS9 version has gone.

Hi guys !

I have just registered on this great forum and - as I am a bit curious - I searched threads about the Cap 10 and found this one.

I'm "Anto", FSX Cap 10's FDE developer.

I apologize profusely for the weird Aircraft.cfg. I usually edit it with Notepad too but it seems I have opened it once with Wordpad. My mistake...

I hope that this will not discourage repainters...

The Cap 10 was designed to take the place of the ageing Stampe. It flies far "softer" than an Extra 300 for instance. The roll rate is only 120°/s (version B - 180°/s version C not represented). You have to push the nose down to accelerate enough to make a loop etc...

'Was a great experience to work on this beautiful baby... Dimitri (Samdim) is a workaholic !

Have nice flights,

Anto
Looking for a new baby !

Yeah, many thanks Anto.

Are you doing more aircrafts? (more aerobatics maybe :) )

Anto
June 17th, 2010, 10:53
Indeed I'm currently looking for a new freeware project.

I would like preferentially to work on an aircraft which flight envelope is larger than the Cap - although stunt manoeuvres were already pretty hard to implemente. Warbird or old jet aircraft for instance.

However in my view the most important isn't really the aircraft itself but the team which works on it. One of the greatest pleasures in designing aircrafts is to participate in a team crazy about aviation.

If you have any idea... feel free to propose !

If you have any idea... feel free to propose !

My Dornier 328-130/-310. :d

Although it might be quite hard to get the combination of STOL and high speed capabilities right.

But give it a try nonetheless. I still need a good, accurate FDE!

(It isn't downloadable yet but you could also use other external models until then. The model doesn't make any difference except for the contact points anyways.)

Well you were looking something else but there's great freeware SU-26M (you find it from avsimrus.com) but there's not so good FDE. So maybe you can do new one for it :)

If you open the aircraft.cfg with "Notepad ++" you will find it has a correct orientation!
It's a very well organised cfg too! :)
