"Malaysian rain is like English tea: it comes around five and it’s the same temperature. " Giorgio Ascanelli, Toro Rosso technical director. :d

Superb run from Mark Webber in Q3 on a soaking wet Speang. The thrid session was halted for a few minutes due to the extreme amount of water on the track. Both Ferrari and McLaren drivers drowned in these conditions: Alonso 19, Massa 21, Button 17 and Hamilton 20! No less than four Germans in postions 2-5.

What was Ferrari thinking?

Should be another interesting race Ferry, as the same weather conditions are called for tomorrow. Well worth my awaking at 4:00 to see. My Easter sunrise ceremony will be spent watching cars race in the rain on a Malaysian afternoon. :ernae:

A bit of a nodder except for the front runners coming through the field. Needed some rain.

Good to see Vettel finally getting a long overdue win for this year......(And just think, he should be 3-0) :)

Other notes: Renaults looking real good in comparison to Mercedes...
Good run by Nico Rosberg...

Race over at turn 1...
Vettel was a class act, in the best car by far.
Interesting they play the Austrian anthem for RBR...

This leaves Massa top of the driver rankings!
And Ferrari top chassis.
Here's the engine standing:
Mercedes 128
Renault 91
Ferrari 78
Cosworth 6

Makes you wonder about last year's Brawn diffuser advantage even more...
-Red Bull was great last year & continues to be great this year
-Brawn (Mercedes) was great last year & sucks this year....

It certainly does...once the other teams also had their "illegal" diffusers installed, Brawn all but disappeared.
Button got all of 14 points in the second half of the season.

In fairness to the engine makers I quoted above, one should do points per engine entered:
So
Renault Total 22.8
Mercedes Total 21.3
Ferrari Total 13.0
Cosworth Total 0.8

OK, I'm late but Ed and Ferry know why.

Shame the RBR order was not reversed but a great result for the most innovative group in the paddock.
:ernae:
Britney did very well, but I remain a firm believer in the talent of Robert Kubica and Adrian Sutil.
Nice to see the STR 'Juniors' trading blows with their peers.
FWIW, it is so good to see none of the stupid bickering on a certain site re the Hamilton blocking Petrov crap.
Petrov did a great job of slipstreaming Hamilton while Hamilton did his best in the great tradition of breaking a tow.........real racing for a change.

On a less positive note, anyone care to place a small wager on the new teams making it through a full season???
They all looked pretty sad.
Methinks Peter Windsor and USF1 are probably not so upset with their perceived 'failure'.

Interesting questions about next season and Michelin, I'd love to see 16" fronts and 18" rears return.
