What kind of numpty has that much difficulty outwitting fruit he needs pointers from bubbles :jump:

Well regardless of the bubbles, I'm sure going to try it next time I purchase bananas. I'm curious to see if it's as easily done as this guy makes it look like.

Does make me wonder that as a species we are curious enough to put a man on the moon but not try to open a banana from the other end....until now that is. :monkies:

Wouldn't you have to use your feet too? :icon_lol:

Gee whiz, I must be a missing link, I've been opening bananas like that ever since I can remember. Better go climb back up my tree. :icon_lol:

Really?

I have always either tried to bend the top and that usually mushes up the fruit, or I just take a paring knife and slice the top completely, then peel it..

...and this way, you have something to hold on to, for that last bite
10/10 for the find, C9G (and 10/10 all you Monkeys, too) :salute:

I can't remember where or how I came across that video some months back...and I was like "What?!?!?!? My high school drop out parents not only gave me a stupid name, these lopsided ears, a nose that will eventually need a steel girder to keep it from dragging the ground and male pattern baldness combined with excessive body hair....but they also taught me how to open a banana the wrong way." If they were still alive, I would stop sending them Mother's and Father's Day cards.

*gets in line behind C9G for being inept at banana opening ...*

I just stick the bottom end in my parrott's cage. He opens it, takes what he wants and I eat the rest.

I sometimes open them by splitting them in half. I grab the banana by both ends and perform a rapid, yet smooth up- and outwards motion with my arms. The result: Two halves of banana with a more or less clean (depends on your performance and the quality of the banana) site of fracture.

This is what the result of this technique can look like:

(Yes, I am dead serious!)

C9G

If I were worried about someone offending me by laughing at the stuff I type on this site, I wouldn't type it. I knew that someone would get a laugh out of it.

So, C9G .. did you go shopping yet?

Did you buy your bananas? Does it work?

We want a full report.

That was funny!

I've been doing in "wrong" my whole life, but I usually previal... Never thought of trying it the new way though. I'll try it next time I get into a contest of wits with a banana! :icon_lol:

But since they are dead, you can still keep sending them cards? :wavey:

Brian

Sure do.....but they always get "Return To Sender"ed because the recipient could not be reached. Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow will prevent the US Postal Service from delivering your letter....but 6 feet of dirt and a cement burial vault will. Go figure!

That movie (K-PAX) was on one of the movie channels here a couple of days ago. I had not seen it, but switched to it because I saw that Kevin Spacey was in it, and I like him. As it happened, I switched to the movie right in the middle of this banana scene! It was a real "What the heck??" moment!
