Hi, does anyone know if there are any of these types available for cfs 2? See here:

Do 17 Z-7/Z-10 Kauz I/II After bomber production ended in 1940, the Z model was modified with a "solid" nose from the Ju 88C, fitted with one 20 mm MG FF cannon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_FF_cannon) and three 7.92 mm MG 17s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_17), to be used as night fighters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_fighter). Three prototypes were converted from existing Z-series airframes to the Do 17 Z-7 Kauz I (screech-owl) configuration. Later the design was further modified to the Do 17 Z-10 Kauz II, the solid nose now containing an IR searchlight for the Spanner infrared (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infrared) detection system. The Z-10 was armed with four 7.92 mm MG 17 machine guns (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_17_machine_gun) grouped above the IR light and two 20 mm MG FF in the lower nose. Only ten of these Kauz II designs were converted from existing Z-series airframes. The Spanner system proved to be essentially useless and many Z-10 were left without detection system. At least one Z-10, coded CD+PV, was used as a flying testbed to help developing the Lichtenstein radar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lichtenstein_radar) system in late 1941/1942.[47] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dornier_Do_17#cite_note-46) Do 215

Don't know of a Z model. Thicko did a very nice series of Do-17s and so did Ted Kaniuka. I have both series installed and enjoy them all.

I have a model of the Dornier215 fitted out for night fighting with radar attenae. But I'm not sure where I got it. The brief readme says,

"CFS2 Dornier 215_B5 Nightfighter. This model depicts the 215 G9_OM of First Ltn. Becker who scored the first kill using the FuG202 radar. The airfile and dp were created using the 1% tools. This version is a work in progress and any feedback on suggestions to improve as welcomed. Anyone who would like to work with me on textures since I am not adequate in skinning contact me at k29st57@hotmail.com"

The zip file is titled Dornier215_B5.zip

Also out there somewhere is a night fighter with oblique guns and gunsite but I've misplaced it. If you want to die quickly try night fighting a heavy bomber. Their gunners have xray vision unaffected by darkness and will be hammering you long before you see them. All you can do is shoot at the source of the tracers.

Hi Gents,
Here are the Dornier nightfighters. All by Ted Kaniuka aka Nachpiloten here on the CFS3 forum at SOH.

Still good and in need of some new skins maybe....??

Do217J1:- http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/syb2.cgi?section=cfs&file=DO217_J1.zip

Do217N2 R22:- http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/syb2.cgi?section=cfs&file=DO217N2_R22.zip

I did ask Thicko months ago about a Z7/10 model of his very nice Do17. Such a good bomber model and would be great basis for the early nightfighters.

Maybe if he' not too busy...please....??:d

Winter is fast approaching here, so I will have to look into making a solid nose version.

Thanks for the consideration Thicko. It would be a nice way to cap off your Dornier series of planes.
