Did you now that there was a invisiable paint scheme used on the P-38 recons during WW II
from March to October 1942 ?

I did not know this either, here is a link to the article, very interesting read. On the page on the upper left

know this . ?

Well, it wasn't anymore invisible, than stealth is invisible, but it did greatly reduce the ability to see it at altitude. I've been trying to figure out how I'm going to mimic the effect on my 1/48 F5. To get the "specs" that were in the paint, the way they used the multiple coats.

Of course, If I do figure it out, I'll be able to paint the newer F-22s with their "metallic" camouflage, as the scheme is referred to; Same for newer V-22s. I've been thinking a metallic undercoat with the colors sprayed lightly over it, or coloring some metallic paints. I'll have to experiment.
