The absolute BEST freeware military aircraft available actually for FSX is the Mirage2000-5 from Roland Laborie (Rollus) and Jean Pierre Bourgeois (Beegee). It is extremely detailled (both external model and virtual cockpit) and realistic (flight model, virtual cockpit instruments).
It can be downloaded ONLY from Rollus website: http://rollus13.perso.neuf.fr/
A registration is required. (Ignore the error message upon registration).

The aircraft can be seen in those very famous (and beautfull) videos:

Navy Chief, the error message that you might get when trying to register is a well-know issue that has to be ignored. Just try to log on using your username and password, as if nothing happened. It should work.
And don't forget, on the download page, the first field is the password, and the second one is the loggin. Quite unusual, I didn't pay attention and inverted the fields the first time I tried...

Is there an english manual for this thing? I'm pretty much screwed when it comes to reading a fr manual. I can say hello and what's your name in french lol

I don't think even an old fart like me would call any of the above really 'modern', the Goshawk comes closest as an up date to a 35 year old design.

umm just add guys but most of our "moden" fighter aircraft are atlest 5-10 year old desighns and most figeters being 1970s and 1980s vintage.. the F-16 is like 1970s tech..

I need new specs-tooka second to see the numbers on that picture-I presume thats the buttons you press & in what order.
There is a french .htm document in the d/l that can be (badly) translated by Google-better than nothing.

I made a crash tuto about the Mirage 2000-5 start sequence. No fancy stuff, quite straight forward actually. :ernae:

A forum search might find the huge thread about the M2000, in which an english manual, or at least a starting procedure was mentioned.

Harri Thaha's and Hadi Tahir's Aero L-39ZA isn't that bad as well. A nice, free alternative to Lotus' payware L-39.

Got her flying. Found out fairly quick that there is a lever that must be rotated, in order to raise the gear. That took me a bit to find! But this is a beautifully done aircraft, and really like it!!!!!!
