I Actually Have a Relevant Question.

Huzzah !

While working with some older German A/C skins, I discovered one [a Ju-88] with a non see-thru canopy. Using DXTBmp and PSP, I was able to clear the canopy by creating an Alpha layer.

However, it's just a little TOO clear now, and looks.... odd.

Is there a method to "tint" the glass that does not require manipulating the MDL file ?

Thanx in advance :salute:

Send over the plane & skin & I'll take a look.

Here's the combo that I have had the best success using:

Paint the glass on the texture file with RGB code 167, 167, 167. For the alpha, use RGB code 129, 129, 129.

In combination with Obio's suggestion, don't forget to vary the level of transparency in the alpha. Black is fully transparent, levels of grey lesser so.

I've found many FS2K and CFS1 planes have this, it's annoying. I've found also many of the RAF662 site's planes for CFS2 have this glass problem.

Which model Ju-88 is that SC? That gun protruding from the lower nose makes for a good strafer.
