The the bokeh (or boke) of this image is not as good as the other one since this one still has fairly hard edges on the background highlights however the depth of field characteristics (softness of background) are the same in both. Bokeh is not just a soft (out of focus) background but has to do with specific lens based characteristics.

I have a nifty fifty (50mm) f1.4 that I always used on my Minolta film camera - I do miss that lens since now using a G1.
